With only 3 short days in this beautiful city, here are some of my favorite stops and recommendations:
- Hiking up Arthur’s Seat day or dusk! (especially when these golden flowers are in bloom around May)
- had the. best. fish. soup of my life at Fishers right on the water in the harbor. Also greatly appreciated the amount of salt flakes on the butter🧂
- mandatory coffee and pastry at The Milkman ☕️
- I sat in Princes Street gardens for a whole afternoon with my book and it was glorious 🌞
- visiting the Portrait Gallery museum, the inside is stunning and with so many interesting portraits of people important to Scottish history
- explored some of the many gardens and meadows
- more Scottish art & making me dream of a trip to the highlands 🐑
National Scottish Gallery - all the museums in Edinburgh, like in London, are free admission. So don’t miss out! This one is right across the Walter Scott monument
- walking around Victoria Street (aka Diagon Alley)
- Arthur's Seat hike at dusk
Other food ideas:
- Mussel & Steak bar for dinner.
- Honestly any fish and chips should be okay haha
- Ting Thai Caraven for lunch (one of my favs)
- Kim’s mini meal (Korean and not mini)
A short train ride up the coast to St. Andrew's
Just 30 miles (50 kilometres) northeast of Edinburgh
- shopping for books in Topping & Company
- Hiking in the lush Scottish greenery
- A completely different lanscape and feeling than Oxford. It was so fun to see what a different college experience could have been like in the Scotland
